    Did Parker lie?

AmaZulu midfielder Bongani Zungu has accused former Kaizer Chiefs star Bernard Parker of making up lies regarding apologies following the horror injury.

Recently, Parker stated that Zungu sent the apologies, but he did wish him a quick recovery, a claim that the former Masandawana star has responded to with a screenshot of their conversation.

    What Parker said

“When I lifted my leg, it was doing this (hand gesture showing a broken limb). While my leg was doing that, the person was performing and yapping and yapping over me, looking at how my leg was swinging from side to side,” Parker told Smash Sports in a recent interview.

“That happened, and I forgave him. It was when I woke up in the hospital because they had to numb me and put me to sleep that evening. Late in that evening, I got an Instagram DM (direct message) from Bongani, saying, "If I can forgive him.

“I said, ‘Sharp, I forgive you.’ He did not even give a thumbs up or a heart or anything, or wish me well for my recovery… nothing. He read it, and he just left it. I still have the screenshot for that message."

    Zungu's response

Zungu has leaked a conversation with Parker, which shows the former sent an apology with a 'quick recovery' part. The conversation also showed that Parker acknowledged the message.

"Hi bro, I am truly sorry about what happened. It was not my intention to hurt you. I hope the injury is not too serious. Be strong, bro; I am deeply sorry. Hope you find it in your heart to forgive me. Speedy recovery," Zungu's message read then.

To which Parker responded, "Apology accepted, bro. You are forgiven. God bless you abundantly," Parker replied.

In an attempt to clear himself from Parker's claims, Zungu has responded by saying, "Mxm, your legend and lies!'

    Where are they now?

Parker now serves as TS Galaxy assistant coach, having retired as a professional football player at the end of the 2023/24 season.

While Zungu is, coincidentally, nursing a long-term injury at AmaZulu.
