    WHAT HAPPENED?

Former Wydad AC head coach Rhulani Mokwena has turned down an offer to take charge at newly acquired Siwelele FC, according to FARPost.

The publication adds that the former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician has rejected the offer, as he is also sought by Algerian champions, MC Alger.

Siwelele FC came into being after it bought SuperSport United and reportedly had an ambitious target of appointing the highly sought tactician.

    WHAT IS MORE

MC Alger are in the market looking for a head coach ahead of the next campaign.

The position fell vacant after Khaled Ben Yahia, who managed 28 matches during his 195-day tenure and won both the league title and the Super Cup, left.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mokwena, who was also linked to Orlando Pirates, is currently a free agent since he left the Moroccan giants. The South African has also been linked with Al Jandal SC of Saudi Arabia and Qatari Stars League club Al Shahaniya SC.

Turning down the Siwelele offer is understood to have been informed by Mokwena's ambition to manage a club in the CAF Champions League.

Recently, he revealed there was an offer from Egyptian giants Zamalek SC, but he did not consider such a move because his mentor, Pitso Mosimane, was also considered.
