    Clear confusion

Former Kaizer Chiefs centre-back Dominic Isaacs has asked the Premier Soccer League side to clear confusion surrounding Nasreddine Nabi's future.

Nabi has not been with the club for some time now, since he confirmed he had left the club. To Isaacs, this situation only increases confusion, which is not good for the overall health of the club.

    Improved Amakhosi

"There has been significant improvement at Kaizer Chiefs compared to the past two years; you can see the progress," Isaacs said in an interview with KickOff.

"If Chiefs had won on Sunday, no one would be complaining. It's not normal for any club to have uncertainty regarding the head coach position," he added.

"The sooner they reach a decision and clarify this confusion, the better it will be for the club. My primary concern is that we don’t have anyone on the bench who understands the culture of Kaizer Chiefs."

Who should be on Chiefs' technical bench?

Apart from calling on the Soweto giants to sort out Nabi's situation as early as possible, Isaacs says it would be important to have one who understands the club deeply as part of the technical bench.

"It's unusual for Kaizer Chiefs not to have a South African or one of the club's legends working alongside the technical team and learning from the head coach. They have always done that in the past," he added.

"I was surprised when I heard about Nabi being sidelined because I thought he was doing well and that the team was improving under his leadership."

"Players take time to adapt to a new coach, and once they do, things start to flow. Chiefs need to address the situation with Nabi, as the two current assistants have very different backgrounds—one came as an assistant coach, while the other was a translator."

    Prolonged uncertainty

Chiefs have been operating without Nabi since mid-September, when the Tunisian said he had left the Soweto giants.

His two assistants, Khali Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, and goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi have been training the team since then.

This is the second time Nabi's assistants are in charge, given that they led Amakhosi at the beginning of the season when the head coach travelled to Tunisia to attend to a family matter.

As the uncertainty persists, fans are waiting for the club to announce what the way forward is regarding the Nabi situation. Since reports emerged that the former Young Africans SC head coach had left, Chiefs only said they were handling the matter internally.
