Ex-Bafana Bafana star hails Orlando Pirates loanee Monnapule Saleng's quality but asserts 'if he comes to Kaizer Chiefs...'

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Thuso Phala has answered the question about whether Monnapula Saleng would be the perfect fit at Naturena.
The winger was loaned out to ORBIT College by Orlando Pirates after falling out with former coach Jose Riveiro and then found no space in Abdeslam Ouaddou's plans.
About the possibility of Saleng playing for Chiefs and making himself a key player there, Phala responds.

"He's a quality player, at Kaizer Chiefs we want quality players but the unfortunate part is that, quality alone at Chiefs is not enough, like in the game of football, no one is bigger than the game or the team," Phala said as per Soccer Laduma.
"So if you respect the game, the game will respect you back. We don't know the reasons he stopped playing at Pirates, there were a lot of stories and in comes [Mohau] Nkota, Saleng is far more talented than Nkota. Nkota comes, plays a season, scores goals, national team and he gets a big-money move, because he respects the game.  
"Now you look back and years later, you're like, maybe that's why he never got that move overseas. He's been there for two, three years, scoring in derbies and you ask yourself why he didn't go overseas," added the ex-Sundowns man.
"There were a lot of stories [but] respect the game. If he comes to Chiefs, will he come for respecting the game or he wants to shine? Because at the end of the day the team comes first."

With a number of players joining Chiefs while on top of their game on to lose form, it appears tricky to tell whether or not Slaneg would have made a mark at Pirates' traditional rivals.
It would also be a challenge to predict of he was going to be a hit at ORBIT, having developed his game way ahead some of his teammates after making some progress at Pirates.
This might be why he has managed just one goal and an assist in nige games so far this season.

Saleng's biggest task is to show Pirates what they are missing in him but he appears far from convincing Ouaddou.
That would determine where he would be playing his football next year if Pirates will take him back, loan him out again or release the player.
