Dynamos FC vice-chairman blasts ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat, gets fired - 'People around him are ill-advising' the player

<a href="https://www.goal.com/lists/official-ex-mamelodi-sundowns-and-kaizer-chiefs-star-khama-billiat-unveiled-by-zim-psl-club/blt00cb135a38296d86#cs48aaf83ba45b5feb" target="_blank">The 33-year-old signed for Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League side Yadah FC</a> earlier this week after initially being strongly tipped to join Dynamos.Other Zimbabwean teams like CAPS United, FC Platinum and Manica Diamonds were reportedly also interested in Billiat although Dynamos looked likely to win his signature.A furious Chawonza went for Billiat, claiming they entered talks with the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder last year and blasting him for the decision he made by leaving Amakhosi.But soon after making those remarks, Chawonza was relieved of his duties.

WHAT HAPPENED?

“People who are around him, Khama Billiat are ill-advising him,” Chawonza told Energy FM, as per Zimbabwean football site <a href="https://www.soccer24.co.zw/2024/02/23/dynamos-blast-billiat/" target="_blank">Soccer24</a>."I think the blame goes to his managers, starting with the decision not to renew his stay at Kaizer Chiefs.“He wasn’t supposed to leave Kaizer Chiefs in the first place. We tabled a similar offer as Yadah, but they were swift and gave him cash on Tuesday when he arrived."“I think he listens too much to the people who are around him, yet they are ill-advising him," continued Chawonza."As a player, he has made some decisions that I did not expect of him. But it all boils down to his management because they are not leading him well."He was the one who initiated talks with us during George Chigova’s funeral. Then we initiated talks with our coach. WHAT CHAWONZA SAID

Chawonza's sentiments are similar to the ones shared by former Kaizer Chiefs star <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/khama-billiat-agent-blamed-for-the-zimbabwean-star-s-failure-to-renew-kaizer-chiefs-contract/bltca8b5baa8067c26c" target="_blank">Robson Muchichwa who also felt Billiat was let down by his agent.</a>After parting ways with Michael Ngobeni who has a number of Premier Soccer League players under his stable, the former Mamelodi Sundowns forward is now represented by childhood friend Godfrey 'Vokal' Bakasa.Bakasa was Billiat's teammate at Aces Youth Soccer Academy in Harare before suffering a career-ending injury and is now a known music producer and artist promoter in Zimbabwe.

Yadah open their 2024 Zimbabwe PSL campaign next weekend with a long trip to Hwange FC.It is to be seen if Billiat will make his debut after spending eight months without playing competitive football.
