    WHAT HAPPENED?

Durban City chairman Farook Kadodia has revealed the challenge they are facing in pursuit of Kaizer Chiefs striker Tashreeq Morris.

The Premier Soccer League debutants are interested in signing the Amakhosi star on loan, but there is a delay in the process, and Kadodia has blamed the Soweto giants for that.

    WHAT KADODIA SAID

"Look, we had that interest, but there are some delays. I don't know what the delays are from Chiefs," Kadodia told Soccer Laduma.

"We expressed our interest to show that we want him, and we are looking for Chiefs to finalise, and we are waiting for Chiefs now. We have expressed our interest, and now the ball is in the court of Chiefs," he added.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Durban City are looking for a striker who will strengthen their attacking department, and Morris has been their target.

They want the Chiefs striker on a loan for the entire season, but have yet to land their target.

At Chiefs, Morris has been overlooked, as Nasreddine Nabi has always preferred other options like Glody Lilepo.

This season, the striker is also set to face the same challenge, as Chiefs have strengthened their attacking unit, especially with the signing of Flavio Silva.

    WHAT NEXT FOR MORRIS?

After falling down the pecking order at Naturena, it is natural for Morris to seek playtime elsewhere.

The PSL debutants have expressed their willingness to bring him on board, but now it is up to the Chiefs to decide.
