    'They were good'

“They were very good; you know, it's those kinds of games when you have the advantage, it's easier to introduce new players, give them confidence and build momentum from that," Kaze told SABC after the game.

    Ighodaro, Lilepo praised

The Burundian also discussed the impact of both Glody Lilepo and Etiosa Ighodaro, who both scored as Amakhosi eliminated their rivals from DR Congo.

“We wanted to try to get different combinations, to get players who can give the extra pass, players who can deliver on set pieces, and players who can shoot as well," he added.

"To have a player like Ighodaro in the box that is a striker that’s difficult in the air, it helped us as well, and the speed of Lilepo also gives you different options."

“We are very happy to qualify to go to the group stages; it's a history for the club," he said.

"You can see our fans are happy, and I believe that we went into the game with the right mentality, starting from the first minute – wanting to make things happen – and I’m very happy for the club and players. They made a tremendous effort, and for the fans too."
