    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Kenya international winger Vincent Oburu has joined Richards Bay from Zambian side Zesco United.

    The 27-year-old was on loan at Napsa Stars and joins the Natal Rich Boyz on an 18-month contract with an option to extend for a further year.

    Richards Bay are keen on reinforcing their attack as they battle to avoid relegation.

    They are currently 15th on the Premier Soccer League table and Oburu comes in to replace Thabang Sibanyoni who was on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.

    Oburu arrives at Richards Bay with a respectable profile as a full Kenya international.

    His national team has been linked with appointing Benni McCarthy as their new coach.

    McCarthy is currently jobless after leaving his role as Manchester United forwards coach.

    WHAT NEXT FOR OBURU?

    Oburu will only be eligible to start playing for Richards Bay in January when the player transfer window opens.

    He could make his debut when they visit equally struggling Marumo Gallants on January 4 if he obtains his SA work permit before the game.
