    WHAT MPHAHLELE SAID

“Yes, we have a deal with Pirates. He [Kgositsile] is staying with us for the 2025/26 season. He will only join Pirates after next season,” Mphahlele told FARPost.

“He is not joining Pirates now because we still need him. He is a quality boy who still needs to contribute to this club.

“I am proud of both these players; they have been good to the club and deserve their chance. I have no doubt that Mashiolane will make his mark at Orlando Pirates like he did with us. He is a quality boy.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Kgositsile was one of the most talked-about Pirates transfer targets last season, but the club confirmed the signing of his former Baroka teammate Tshepo Mashiloane.

With the Bucaneers having signed nine players so far this offseason, it is to be seen if they will have space for more players.

The new signings include Malian midfielder Abdoulaye Mariko who was seen going through medicals at the club.
