    WHAT HAPPENED?

Orlando Pirates are already making moves to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.

Reports suggest that Kabelo Kgositsile and Tshepho Mashiloane from Baroka have signed deals with the Soweto giants after impressing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has responded to the news by asking for patience until the end of the season to make official announcements.

He emphasised that good and bad news will come in due course.

Mphahlele also highlighted the positive attention his players are getting from top-tier clubs as a sign of progress at Bakgaga.

The potential departure of key players reflects the club’s growing reputation for developing talent.

Baroka’s continued relevance in the player market speaks volumes about the structures they’ve put in place.

    WHAT MPHAHLELE SAID

“We still have three games to play [in the league]. Let me finish my three games, then I will tell you the good or bad news,” Mphahlele said as reported by FARPost when asked about the future of the two players.

“Well, that’s a good thing. If a team like Pirates is interested, it gives me pleasure, and that means I am doing something good. I wouldn’t want a player to play and end his career at Baroka.”

“I want a player that other teams would also be interested in. If you are good enough, that means other teams must show interest in you.

“Mashiloane is our top defender. He has played all the matches but missed one due to suspension. Kgositsile, as well, has played all the matches.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Baroka and Orlando Pirates have a strong history of player movements between them, including notable transfers like Gift Motupa and Thabiso Kutumela.

This ongoing partnership seems to benefit both clubs, with Pirates tapping into Baroka's talent pool.

After recent poor form, including a tough loss to Pyramids, Pirates are in need of positive developments.

Securing young, promising players may provide a morale boost and long-term value.

The strategic recruitment signals that Pirates are preparing seriously for the future.
