Barcelona step up Nico Williams pursuit! Blaugrana sporting director Deco meets Spain & Athletic Club's agent in bid to see off transfer competition from Chelsea & Arsenal

According to Jijantes, Deco caught up with Williams' representative Felix Tainta in Zaragoza on Wednesday as they discussed contract terms for the Spain and Athletic Club attacker. The Blaugrana have been linked with the young winger for quite some time and are now trying to seal a transfer ahead of Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal.

Earlier this week, The Athletic reported that both the Gunners and the Blues remain keen on roping in the winger, who recently starred for Spain and played a key role in his team lifting their record fourth European Championship title.

With Williams and Lamine Yamal doing wonders together for La Roja in international football, Barcelona fans will hope that the duo will be able to replicate that magic in club football for their side in the upcoming 2024-25 campaign.

Hansi Frlick's side have already begun pre-season and will next travel to the US for friendly matches against clubs like Manchester City and Real Madrid later this month.
