The hosts took control in the early stages of the first half, with Patrick Maswanganyi and Oswin Appollis heavily involved in the attacking play, especially in the final third. Tanzania found it difficult to gain possession and had trouble containing Appollis, who caused problems down the left wing.

However, South Africa’s poor decision-making in key attacking moments allowed the visitors to escape unpunished. That pattern persisted until the halftime whistle, with the match still goalless at the break.

The second half unfolded much like the opening 45 minutes, maintaining a familiar rhythm and flow with South Africa dominating possession and dictating the tempo.

However, the visitors remained resolute at the back, successfully frustrating most of Bafana’s efforts in the final third and eventually seeing the international friendly end 0-0.
