    WHAT HAPPENED?

Goals from Antoine Griezmann and Memphis Depay forced extra-time between Atletico Madrid and Inter after a 2-2 aggregate draw in the second leg of their last 16 tie. After a goalless extra 30 minutes, the game ended up going to a penalty shootout, and Sanchez was one of the players to miss his spot kick for the Nerazzurri. After the Chilean star's miss, Griezmann was in no mood to let the former Arsenal winger off easy as the Frenchman mocked his mentality.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Inter headed to the Wanda Metropolitano with a 1-0 lead and looked in good shape to progress but a 2-1 defeat in the return saw the game taken to penalties. As it turned out, reaching the shootout turned out to be pivotal for the Spanish side as they won 3-2 in the shootout with goalkeeper Jan Oblak saving two penalties. Griezmann's performance against Inter was without a doubt his best since he returned to action after an injury layoff. He didn't take a penalty, having already been substituted, but did play a key role as Atletico progressed to the quarter-finals.
