'At least 10 goals!' Brother of former Al Ahly star targets transfer to either Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates after impressing with scoring ability

What is Mahlambi's story at Galaxy?

The 21-year-old Seluleko Mahlambi has been one of the most impressive players so far in the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign.

The left winger, whose older brother is former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly star Phakamani Mahlambi, has played five league matches this season with a return of three goals and two assists.

It explains why the Rockets have started the season quite well, winning three games and suffering two losses.

Mahlambi wants to play for the Soweto giants

Mahlambi is keen on playing abroad, but has also expressed his desire to play for either Pirates or Chiefs if he gets an opportunity.

“My target this season is to score at least 10 goals so that I can attract offers from other clubs because I still want to go outside and experience other things,” he told FARPost

“To tell you the truth, I grew up wanting to play for SuperSport United. I even had a wish to play for their development, but that didn’t happen.

“So right now in South Africa, I can say that the teams I would want to play for are Pirates and Chiefs. And also if I get an offer overseas, I would be very happy because that will help me to grow as a footballer, and my family will also be secured if I get a team overseas.”

Why Sukazi might not have problems with Mahlambi's comments

The Rockets are known for their model of turning youngsters and other players into stars before selling them.

At just 21, Mahlambi can fetch the club some good money owing to his quality.

Dzenan Zajmovic, Lebone Seema, Sphiwe Mahlangu, and Kamogelo Sebelebele are some of the key players the club has lost in the ongoing transfer window, but that has not affected them that much, if recent showings are anything to consider.

It explains why Tim Sukazi would be listening to offers for the attacker.

What does the future hold for Mahlambi?

If the youngster doesn't leave in the next couple of days, then he will be aiming at getting some more numbers at Galaxy and reaching his stated targets for goals and assists.

He might fetch the club some good fortune if he manages to hit double digits at the end of the ongoing edition and help them achieve their goals too.
