    WHAT HAPPENED?

AmaZulu chairman Sandile Zungu has confirmed that Arthur Zwane will remain as head coach beyond this season after impressing in the role.

Zwane, who initially joined as a co-coach, took full control after the departure of his partner Vusumuzi Vilakazi and has since brought stability and identity to the club.

The chairman praised Zwane’s impact, highlighting the character and discipline he has instilled in the team.

Usuthu are currently sitting sixth on the log and are pushing for a top-eight finish with one game remaining.

Zwane’s calm presence on the bench and ability to manage key fixtures have played a key role in the team’s progress.

With his long-term future now confirmed, the former Kaizer Chiefs mentor will be looking to build further on this momentum.

    WHAT ZUNGU SAID

“Arthur Zwane is going to be with AmaZulu beyond this season; that decision has been taken. We believe that he has done an awesome job in giving character to the team,” Zungu told the media, as reported by iDiski Times.

"We think he needed to be rewarded with a greater loyalty by us, and that decision has been communicated not only to him but also to the players and the rest of the technical team.

“Arthur Zwane is part of the AmaZulu FC beyond the end of the season, that’s a fact, we are very pleased with his good work.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Zwane has guided AmaZulu into the top half of the table while his former club, Chiefs, are still battling to secure a top-eight finish.

Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has endured a tough debut season but still has a lifeline through the Nedbank Cup final.

Zwane’s current success contrasts with the instability at Naturena, where expectations remain high despite underwhelming performances.

The final against Pirates presents Nabi with a shot at redemption, while Zwane's AmaZulu have quietly built a solid foundation.

Zwane’s calm leadership and tactical adjustments have restored belief in the Durban-based side.

Zwane’s side will need to stay sharp if they are to secure a strong finish and seal their top-eight spot.
