PSL clubs continue to be troubled by ill-disciplined players who abuse alcohol and put their careers in jeopardy.

This problem, which has persisted for many years and has destroyed some of the most promising talents, is showing no sign of stopping.

In the past, the likes of Jabu “Shuffle” Mahlangu, Junior Khanye, Thabiso “Skappie” Malatsi, and Mbulelo “Old John” Mabizela were some of the players who were victims of the bottle. The current era has players like Itumeleng Khune, Phakamani Mahlambi, Siyabonga Zulu, Dumisani Zuma and Andile Jali seemingly heading in the same direction.

GOAL looks at the new era of PSL bad boys that will likely be used as an example for the next generation of football stars in Mzansi.
