    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs have not been doing well in the attacking department, specifically in the focal point, where they have missed a ruthless striker.

Ranga Chivaviro, Christian Saile, Ashley du Preez and most recently Tashreeq Morris have struggled to deliver.

Saile was sold to SuperSport United in the January Transfer Window, while Chivaviro was released a couple of days ago.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Coach Nasreddine Nabi will definitely bring in an established striker to help the Glamour Boys realise their targets next season.

The 23-year-old Dutch-born South African striker Simon van Duivenbooden, who has been included in coach Hugo Broos' preliminary Bafana Bafana squad, is confident of leading the Glamour Boys' attack.

Van Duivenbooden, who is a free agent, did not have a good season with Vitesse, where he managed zero goals in 18 games across all competitions.

Somehow, the former PSV Eindhoven academy player, who is a free agent after leaving Vitesse, is confident of helping Amakhosi score goals regularly.

    WHAT VAN DUIVENBOODEN SAID

“Kaizer Chiefs is a team with a rich history and passionate fanbase,” he told Afrik-Foot.
“I'm incredibly excited about the prospect of potentially joining such a prestigious club and contributing to their success in the Premier League.

"I believe my skills and experience would be a great fit, and I'm eager to explore this opportunity further," Van Duivenbooden, who has netted just one career goal in 27 league matches, concluded.

    WHAT NEXT?

The stats are not favouring Van Duivenbooden, explaining why it will be a surprise if Nabi and his technical team go for his services.

Apart from all the domestic competitions, save for the MTN8, the Soweto giants will be taking part in the Caf Confederation Cup.
