    WHAT HAPPENED?

Botswana Premier League 2024/25 season's top scorer Jean Lwamba of Tafic has expressed his desire to play for Premier Soccer League sides Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

Lwamba said whichever club is interested in him should open up, although he specifically mentioned the Soweto giants, saying he is capable of playing for them.

    WHAT LWAMBA SAID

"Whoever is interested will have to just talk to my agent and my club. I play centre-forward, right winger, and left winger," Lwamba told KickOff.

"I can't talk too much about myself, though, because I know myself and what I can do. I can make it anywhere in South Africa, even at Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates; I can play.

"But as a football player, I prefer to do my talking on the pitch. I can't promise how many goals I can score in the PSL per season, but give me a chance, and you will see. I'm ready."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

It is evident that Pirates and Chiefs will strengthen their attacking departments.

Nasreddine Nabi was particularly concerned by the available strikers at Naturena, and it is likely he is in the market for a top attacker.

Glody Lilepo was Chiefs' lead striker in the concluded season, and his output was not as convincing. Tashreeq Morris is one of the Amakhosi strikers but is yet to find the back of the net, highlighting the need for a lethal attacker for the Glamour Boys.

Pirates' coaches, on the other hand, depended on Tshegofatso Mabasa, who was preferred in most cases to Evidence Makgopa. To improve their strikers' capabilities, the Sea Robbers need to bring on board another who will give the available ones stiff competition.

After scoring 15 goals in the league, Lwamba, who is from the Democratic Republic of Congo, just like Fiston Mayele, a former Chiefs target, looks like a prime striker who can help the Soweto giants.

    WHAT NEXT FOR LWAMBA?

After sending the get-me-plea, PSL sides might be tempted to approach the striker with ready offers at hand.

After proving himself in Botswana, it is time for Lwamba to test his talent in a different league, and PSL should be one of his viable destinations.
