England secured their spot in the last 32 in Qatar as they finished second to Venezuela in Group E. The Young Lions then eased into the last 16 of the tournament as they got the better of South Korea on Saturday.

Heskey's on fire! England march on at U17 World Cup

England booked their place in the last 16 of the Under 17 World Cup courtesy of a commanding 2-0 victory over South Korea in Qatar. Reigan Heskey, son of former Liverpool striker Emile, was on the scoresheet with a superb header and an own goal eased the Young Lions into the next round in what was ultimately a comfortable win for Liam Bradley's side.

England's Young Lions needed just 14 minutes to open the scoring against Egypt at the Under-17 World Cup on Monday in Qatar. Manchester City star Reigan Heskey broke the deadlock with an excellent solo goal to give his team a great start to the match. His strike continued some fine form for the forward who played a key role last time out against Haiti as England won for the first time at the tournament.

Heskey gives eight-goal England lift-off at U17 World Cup

Manchester City starlet Reigan Heskey, the son of former Liverpool striker Emile, helped to give England lift-off in their U17 World Cup campaign as he inspired an 8-1 victory over Haiti. Having lost their opening game of the tournament in Qatar, the Young Lions knew that three points were imperative in their second Group E fixture. Neil Ryan's side ultimately eased over that line.

England suffer nightmare start at Under-17 World Cup

England have been left licking their wounds after opening the 2025 Under-17 World Cup in Qatar with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Venezuela. A previous generation of Young Lions including Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho lifted the trophy in 2017, but this team lacked a ruthless edge as two quickfire Venezuela goals from captain Roman Davis and Dioner Fuentes near the end of the first half killed England, before a late third from substitute Eider Barrios.

England U17s face do-or-die qualifier

England fell to a 1-0 loss to Scotland earlier this week and were defeated by the same scoreline by Lithuania on Friday. Tomas Jonyla scored the only goal of the game as he got the better of George Mair with a 17th-minute free kick. Lithuania were able to hold out for a narrow victory, which leaves England with a mountain to climb if they wish to progress to the U17 Euros.

Die Associazione Calcio Milan, kurz AC Milan, wurde im Dezember 1899 als Mailänder Fußball- und Cricketklub (Milan Cricket and Football Club) gegründet.

Milan gehört seit 2022 mehrheitlich der US-Investmentfirma RedBird Capital Partners. Für rund 1,2 Milliarden Dollar übernahm die Gruppe den Verein. 

Die Heimspielstätte der AC Milan ist das Giuseppe-Meazza-Stadion, auch oft San Siro genannt. Der Verein teilt sich die Arena mit dem Stadtrivalen Inter Mailand. 

Das San Siro fasst satte 75.817 Fans, womit es eines der größten Fußballstadien Europas ist. 

Auch an der Titelfront ist Milan im europäischen Vergleich ganz vorne mit dabei. Insgesamt hat der Verein rund 50 Trophäen eingesackt, darunter alleine siebenmal die Champions League. Nur Real Madrid hat die Königsklasse häufiger gewonnen (15-mal).

Auch auf nationaler Ebene ist die AC über die Jahre extrem erfolgreich gewesen. Nur wenige italienische Klubs haben mehr Titel eingefahren als die 19 Meisterschaften und fünf Coppa Italia von Mailand. 

Rekordspieler der AC Milan Paolo Maldini. Die Vereinslegende stand 901-mal für die Rossoneri auf dem Feld, führte sein Team dabei unter anderem zu fünf CL-Titeln, sieben Meisterschaften und dem Gewinn des italienischen Pokals.

Bester Torschütze ist der Schwede Gunnar Nordahl. Er erzielte zwischen 1949 und 1956 ganze 214 Tore in nur 262 Spielen. Zweiter ist Andriy Shevchenko mit 175 Buden.

Die erfolgreichsten Trainer für Mailand waren Nereo Rocco, Arrigo Sacchi, Fabio Capello und Carlo Ancelotti. Unter allen vieren konnte der Verein sowohl die Meisterschaft als auch die Königsklasse gewinnen - in den meisten Fällen jeweils mehrfach.
