The experienced Frenchman remains out of work since leaving the Gunners and admits he is eager to get back into the daily grind of club management

Arsene Wenger insists he is "not finished", with the former Arsenal boss admitting to feeling “frustrated” as he waits on an opportunity to return to management.

The Frenchman has been out of work since seeing a 22-year spell at the Gunners helm brought to a close over the summer.

Various posts have been mooted for the 69-year-old, with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Fulham having all been linked with an approach for his services.

Wenger is still hoping to find a suitable role which will allow him to head back into the dugout, with there no desire on his part to walk away from coaching just yet.

He told beIN Sports: “I don’t feel retired at all but I feel frustrated from [a lack of] competition.

“I am basically a competitor and what I miss – honestly there are many things I don’t miss at all, like all of the stuff around the game you have to deal with.

“But of course, the day, the competition, the achievement that you can do together, sharing emotions, sharing competitions, ups and downs with others, of course you miss that because I spent my life in that.”

Wenger has previously stated that, with such strong ties to Arsenal, he will not be taking another job in the Premier League.

Opportunities across Europe appear set to present themselves at some stage and a man who collected 10 major honours during his time in England is waiting on the right call.

“I’m not finished,” he added.

“People always want to put you in cases, like you are retired or you are finished. People want to finish you completely when you have got older.

“But as long as you have an appetite for life I will go on.

“One advantage I have from 35 years in the game is sharing what I know with other people and if you don’t do that then life is useless.

“You should not leave this world without trying to give something to the people.”
