Milan and Inter set to go head to head for Sensi


AC Milan and fierce rivals Inter are set to enter battle over who signs Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi, reports

The Serie A pair have both shown interest in the 23-year-old, and the Rossoneri have reportedly offered a two-year loan deal with an obligation to purchase at €15 million (£13m/$17m).

Inter remain on standby however, with Sassuolo hoping for a larger transfer fee for the player, and would look to Sensi to potentially replace Borja Valero.

West Ham to make second Gomez offer


West Ham are preparing a second bid for Celta Vigo's Maxi Gomez after their initial £25m (€28m/$31m) offer was knocked back, according to the Evening Standard.

The 22-year-old forward has a £43.5m (€48.8m/$54.6m) release clause and the La Liga outfit are demanding closer to that figure to be tempted into selling.

Gomez has had an impressive season, hitting 13 goals in 35 league games.

Man City bid €60m for Cancelo


Manchester City have made a €60m (£53m/$67m) bid for Joao Cancelo, according to the Telegraph.

The Premier League champions are looking to strengthen and have set their sights on the Juventus right-back.

Kyle Walker produced just one assist all season and, while he is likely to stay on, Pep Guardiola would like to prove him with greater competition that Danilo.

Spurs eyeing Andersen


Tottenham are keeping tabs on Sampdoria centre-back Joachim Andersen, according to the Evening Standard.

The defender reportedly has a £25m (€28m/$31m) release clause which Spurs are considering activiating.

They will, however, face competition from AC Milan, Juventus and Arsenal, who are also interested in the player.

Charlton keen on Nketiah loan


Charlton are interested in taking Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah on loan, according to the Daily Mirror.

Augsburg were interested in a temporary deal in January, but Emery blocked the move due to Danny Welbeck's injury. 

Bristol City are another rumoured to be interested in the forward, who notched his first Premier League goal against Burnley on the final day of the season.

QPR land Barbet


QPR have announced the signing of Yoann Barbet on a three-year deal on their official website.

The defender said: “QPR is a massive club with a big history so I am really happy.

“I try to lead the team and to help other players, to make them confident. I will do my best to help them in a good way and the team to do as best as possible.”

Everton set to finalise €25m Gomes deal


Everton are close to completing a deal which would see Andre Gomes return to Goodison Park on a permanent basis, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The Barcelona midfielder spent last season on loan with the Toffees, making 29 appearances and scoring one goal, and is close to sealing a return which will set Marco Silva's side back €25 million (£22m/$28m).

The 25-year-old currently has two years left on his contract at Camp Nou after originally joining Barcelona from Valencia in 2016 for a reported fee of €40m (£36m/$45m).

Marseille keen on €4m-rated Lazio full-back Durmisi


Marseille are interested in Lazio left-back Riza Durmisi as they search for a player to compete with Jordan Amavi, reports L'Equipe

The Danish defender is valued at €4 million and joined the Serie A side from Real Betis in June 2018 for a fee believed to have been around €7m (£6m/$8m).

However, the Ligue 1 club will have to offload assets before they can think about adding to their squad, with midfielder Morgan Sanson reportedly one man they are willing to part ways with.

Burnley reject Besiktas loan offer for Gibson


Ben Gibson has emerged as surprise target for Besiktas and the Turkish club have seen a loan offer turned down by Burnley, reports Sky Sports News.

The defender joined the Clarets from Middlesbrough last summer but made just one Premier League appearance during an injury-hit campaign.

Besiktas reportedly made contact over a potential loan deal, with a view to a permanent transfer, but have been knocked back by Sean Dyche's side.

Torreira's agent says reuniting with Giampaolo at Milan would be 'special'


Lucas Torreira's agent has revealed that a potential return to Italy with former boss Marco Giampaolo at AC Milan would be 'something special'.

The Uruguay international has been linked with a move to the San Siro in recent weeks and added fuel to the rumours when he admitted last week that he 'liked living in Italy more'.

The midfielder is valued at £40 million ($50m) by the Gunners, although Milan are considering offering Franck Kessie as a makeweight in a potential deal.

Rangers confirm Ojo deal


Rangers have confirmed the signing of Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old joins the Scottish Premiership side having previously spent time on loan with WolvesWigan, Fulham and most recently Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims.

He made 17 appearances for the French club as they ended last season in eighth place.

Eintracht Frankfurt confirm four players to depart


Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed that Mischa Häuser, Patrice Kabuya, Nelson Mandela Mbouhom and Tobias Stirl are all set to be released when their contracts expire at the end of the season.

The four youngsters struggled to break into the first-team after signing their first professional contracts.

QPR interested in Barbet


QPR are interested in signing Yoann Barbet for free, following the expiry of his contract at Brentford, according to Sky Sports.

The defender made 37 appearances in all competitions last term for the Bees but they surprisingly opted not to extend his contract.

And fellow London club QPR are ready to pounce on the 26-year-old, although other Championship clubs are also interested.

Bale's agent dismisses loan talk


Gareth Bale's agent has dismissed the possibility of the winger leaving Real Madrid on loan this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The Welshman's relationship with manager Zinedine Zidane has deteriorated to the point where the Frenchman laft Bale out entirely towards the end of the season.

A loan had been mooted for a player who valuation few clubs appeared interested in meeting, but his agent has insisted that any move would have to be a permanent one.

Birmingham City have announced the sacking of manager Garry Monk on their official website.

He guided the club to safety after they were deducted nine points for breaching EFL profitability and sustainability rules.

Pep Clotet has been appointed as caretaker manager until a new permanent head coach is found, whilst the remainder of the coaching team remains in place.

Mata to sign new Man Utd deal


Juan Mata is set to sign a new deal at Manchester United, according to the Independent.

The Spaniard's current contract is set to expire and would see him leave Old Trafford on a free transfer.

However, the United hierarchy have moved to extend the playmaker's stay in Manchester, having offered new deals to several other players in the same position already.

Aston Villa ready bid for Man Utd defender


Aston Villa are plotting a move for Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe, The Daily Mail says.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan with the Birmingham club, making 30 appearances to help them on on their way back to the Premier League.

And Villa have been impressed by the centre-back and want to sign him on a permanent deal, though another loan is an option.

Watford move in on PSV star Pereiro


Watford are trying to sign Gaston Pereiro from PSVThe Watford Observer reports.

The 24-year-old Uruguay international joined the Dutch side in 2015 and has a year left on his contract.

Watford's owner Gino Pozzo and technical director Filippo Giraldi have reached out to the attacking midfielder's agent, who has also been in touch with AC Milan.

AC Milan face competition in Rui hunt


AC Milan have been joined by Torino in their pursuit of Napoli full-back Mario Rui, according to Tuttosport.

The Rossoneri want to strengthen their defensive options by signing the left-back but Torino are hoping to nip in ahead of the San Siro club by promising him playing time.

Southampton's McCarthy wants Liverpool move


Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is open to joining Liverpool amid reports of the club's interest, Evening Standard says.

The Reds are looking for a new backup goalkeeper as Simon Mignolet looks set to leave this summer and see the 31-year-old as the ideal candidate.

Southampton have already received offers for McCarthy but Liverpool still have time to swoop in.

PSG want Casemiro as part of Neymar deal


French side would drop asking price for a swap, say reports

Real Madrid can increase their chances of signing Neymar if they offer Casemiro to Paris Saint-Germain as part of the deal.

The Spanish giants have been after the Brazilian star since his Santos days and have not been discouraged since his world-record move to Paris.

PSG will not let him go cheap and will demand something close to the €222 million they paid for him. But Marca says that an offer that includes Casemiro being sent to the French capital would convince PSG to drop the asking price for Neymar.

Barcelona & Valencia agree Cillessen & Neto swap


Barcelona and Valencia have agreed to swap goalkeepers Jasper Cillessen and Neto.

Dutch shot stopper Cillessen is looking for a move away from Camp Nou after being stuck on the Barca bench and the Catalan side have agreed to let him leave in search of first-team football.

And it seems he will stay in La Liga by taking Neto's place at Los Che, who will move to Barcelona to act as Marc-Andre ter Stegen's backup, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Inter & Hertha near €25m Lazaro deal


Inter are closing in on the signing of Valentino Lazaro from Hertha BerlinSky Sport in Germany says.

The 23-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Inter, leaving it up to the clubs to decide on a transfer fee.

Hertha are holding out for at least €25 million (£22m/$28m) for the midfielder, who has two years left on his contract.

Atletico eye Xhaka as Rodri replacement


Arsenal star seen as alternative to Marcos Llorente

Atletico Madrid are considering Granit Xhaka as a potential replacement for Rodri and an alternative to Real Madrid’s Marcos Llorente, Mundo Deportivo says.

The Spanish side are set to lose Rodri to Manchester City and need to strengthen in midfield ahead of the new campaign. Llorente is their first choice, but they are reluctant to pay the €50 million their city rivals want for him.

Instead, they may approach Arsenal over Swiss star Xhaka, though it will be a difficult job to persuade the Gunners to sell him.

Atalanta to strengthen with Muriel signing


Atalanta are set to strengthen for their upcoming Champions League campaign with the signing of Luis Muriel, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Colombia forward Muriel, 28, will cost €15 million (£13.4m) plus performance-related bonuses from Sevilla

A deal had looked to be in jeopardy after he suffered a knee injury at the Copa America, but he now looks set to link up with international teammate Duvan Zapata at the Bergamo club.

Joao Felix nears Atletico move


Felix 'has Atletico medical'

Joao Felix has had his medical at Atletico Madrid, according to Record.

The 19-year-old Portuguese star has been heavily linked with a €120 million (£107m) move to Diego Simeone's side, and was filmed in a Madrid restaurant with agent Jorge Mendes last night.

Such a deal would be the fourth-most expensive transfer of all time, behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappe's moves to PSG and Philippe Coutinho's switch to Barcelona.

City close on €70m Rodri


City to trigger Rodri's release clause

Manchester City are in pole position to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri for €70 million (£62.7m), Goal understands.

The Spanish international has already asked Atletico to allow him to leave, and Pep Guardiola sees him as a long-term successor to key midfielder Fernandinho.

United '£40m short of Maguire price'


United and Leicester '£40m apart' in Maguire valuation

Manchester United are £40 million short in their valuation of Leicester City's Harry Maguire, according to ESPN.

United have been linked with the England man for some time as they look to reshape their back line, but the Foxes are under little pressure to sell and are holding out for £80 million.

Maguire signed a new five-year contract at the King Power at the start of the 2018-19 season, leaving Leicester in a strong negotiating position. United may now switch their attention to West Ham's Issa Diop, though the Hammers are also reported to be after a huge fee for the 22-year-old Frenchman.

Boca to change strategy in De Rossi pursuit


Boca Juniors manager Nicolas Burdisso is adjusting his strategy in his pursuit of midfielder and former teammate Daniele De Rossi.

The 35-year-old is a free agent after coming to the end of his contract at Roma, his boyhood club he originally joined in 2000. The pair were teammates for five years when Burdisso played for Roma between 2009-2014. 

Burdisso is keen on taking the veteran to Boca but says he will stop pressing him for a move, telling TYC Sports that there are bigger priorities in his side's transfer strategy - but he is still hopeful of bringing him in.

Klinsmann Jr. moves to St Gallen


Jonathan Klinsmann, son of Germany legend Jurgen, has left Hertha Berlin to join St Gallen in Switerzland.

Klinsmann, a 22-year-old goalkeeper, only made one competitive first-team appearance at Hertha - a Europa League clash with Ostersunds back in December 2017.

"After two years of training with Hertha BSC, which have helped me a lot, my goals are clear," Klinsmann told the club's website. "I want to help FC St. Gallen to reach the Europa League and I want to become the first-choice goalkeeper as soon as possible."

Though born in Munich, Klinsmann has represented the USA at youth level and is hoping to make the Olympic squad for Tokyo 2020.

Milan to rival West Ham for Maripan


AC Milan have joined the race to sign Chile international defender Guillermo Maripan from Alaves, according to Marca.

West Ham have reportedly already submitted an offer of €11.6 million (£10.4m) for the 25-year-old, but Alaves won't sell for that price. 

Sporting director Sergio Fernandez has previously stated that any buying club must pay €25 million (£22.3m) for Maripan, who joined from Universidad Católica in 2017. He has 13 caps for Chile, and played 90 minutes in their 4-0 thrashing of Japan in the Copa America on Monday night.

Favre extends Dortmund contract


Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre has signed a contract extension through to 2021, the club have announced.

61-year-old former Swiss international Favre has had a successful start to life in Dortmund after replacing Peter Stoger as boss last summer.

His side thrilled neutrals with their attractive attacking football as they played a part in the most competitive Bundesliga title race in years, eventually losing out to Bayern Munich by just two points.

Favre's previous contract had been due to expire in 2020.

Benfica snap up Brazilian teenager Borges


Benfica have announced the signing of 19-year-old Brazilian forward Joao Borges.

Borges' first taste of Portuguese football came with Berco Sport Clube in 2018-19, scoring one goal in 10 games.

He is reported to have signed a five-year contract with Benfica, and is likely to initially play for the club's B team.

Coutinho won't consider United move


Philippe Coutinho wants out of Barcelona - but he won't consider a move to Manchester United, claim Marca.

The 27-year-old has struggled for form since moving from Liverpool in January 2018, though he impressed with a brace in Brazil's 3-0 Copa America opener against Bolivia on Saturday.

Despite some animosity from the club's fanbase, Coutinho still holds great affection for Liverpool after spending five years there - so he isn't willing to join their biggest rivals.

AZ to sign Japanese youngster Sugawara


AZ Alkmaar have agreed terms for the signing of 18-year-old Japanese defender Yukinari Sugawara.

Sugawara, currently of Nagoya Grampus Eight, will travel to the Netherlands for a medical on Friday, the club announced on their website.

The right-back made his club debut last year, and has 11 caps for Japan at under-17 level to his name.

Diawara 'rejects Wolves move'


Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara has rejected the chance to join Wolves, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League but it is reported he would prefer to stay in Italy with a move to Roma.

Napoli, meanwhile, are interested in Roma defender Kostas Manolas, which could prove important in any move for Guinea international Diawara.

Claude Makelele is the latest former Chelsea star to take up a backroom role at the club, Goal understands.

Fiorentina midfielder Jordan Veretout has become very popular in Serie A.

The 26-year-old has spent two impressive seasons with the Viola, scoring 15 goals in 75 appearances to attract the attention of several Italian teams.

Roma and Napoli have long been in pursuit of the France Under 21 international but it is AC Milan who have moved ahead of their rivals, according to Calciomercato, by opening talks with Fiorentina, who are demanding around €25 million (£22m/$28m).

Suarez stays cool on Griezmann talk


Luis Suarez says Antoine Griezmann is a "quality player" but gave nothing away regarding a potential move to Barcelona.

The French striker says he is leaving Atletico Madrid this season and appeared to be on his way to Camp Nou, but speculation has faded and there is talk that he could set to join Paris Saint-Germain instead.

Asked if he thinks Griezmann could still end up joining him at Barca, Suarez stayed quiet as he would rather not comment.

Real Madrid are demanding Atletico Madrid pay €50 million (£44m/$56m) to sign Marcos Llorente this summer, AS reports.

The 24-year-old has already reached an agreement to join Diego Simeone's team but the Rojiblancos must now come to terms with their city rivals.

Atletico are willing to go as high as €40m at the moment, but Los Blancos are hoping to squeeze the remaining €10m out of them.

Napoli continue Manolas talks with Roma


Napoli have opened talks with Roma over defender Kostas Manolas, Sky Sport in Italy reports.

The Stadio San Paolo outfit are offering money plus 19-year-old defensive midfielder Amadou Diawara in exchange for the Greek centre-back.

But Roma are holding out for €36 million for Manolas, who has been linked with a move to England in recent years.

Chelsea snub Atletico & Barca bids for Willian


La Liga giants offered £35m for Blues star

Chelsea have rejected £35 million offers from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid for Willian, Sky Sports claims.

Barca have long been interested in the Brazil international, having had offers for him knocked back last summer and again in January.

The winger is in the final year of his contract and started 26 of his 32 Premier League appearances last term, scoring three goals, but Chelsea are reluctant to let him go as they are banned from signing players in the next two transfer windows.

Fit-again Afellay to sign with PSV


Former Barcelona and Stoke City man Ibrahim Afellay has signed a one-year contract with PSV Eindhoven after regaining his fitness with the club's under-19 team.

Afellay, now 33, has been without a club since his contract at Stoke was cancelled in January but he has impressed at PSV, where he made over 150 league appearances after coming through as a youngster.

"After years of great setbacks, it's great to get this chance at PSV," he told the club's website. “I spent 15 years of my life here and the mentality that fits here suits me. In the past months I have experienced that again. It feels good to get back to work here. "

Bowyer signs on at Charlton


Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer has signed a one-year contract extension at the club - just hours after a club statement suggesting he was set to leave.

Bowyer, 42, led the Addicks to the Championship via the play-offs last season, but had seemed destined to leave after the club confirmed he had failed to agree terms on a new deal.

Now he has put pen to paper on an extension, telling the club's website: "The journey hasn’t finished yet and I’m delighted this has all been agreed. 

“This has been a long process and I never wanted to leave, I love this club. I’d like to thank the owner for giving me the initial opportunity and now for continuing to believe in me."

Benitez contacted by Chinese club


Rafa Benitez could have his head turned by a £12 million/year offer from Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang, according to The Times.

The much-loved Newcastle boss is out of contract at the end of this month and his future remains unclear after being unable to secure commitments from owner Mike Ashley on his spending power in the transfer market.

His potential exit would rock the club, already in a summer of turmoil with uncertainty surrounding a potential takeover by Dubai-based billionaire Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan.

Joao Felix 'spotted in Madrid'


El Chiringuito have released footage claiming to show Benfica winger Joao Felix leaving a Madrid restaurant with agent Jorge Mendes.

The 19-year-old starlet has been heavily linked with Atletico Madrid, with reports yesterday claiming that a nine-figure fee had been agreed between the two clubs.

Benfica released a statement rubbishing those claims, but this footage will add fuel to the fire as one of European football's most wanted men appears to near his next destination.

City target Rodri wants Atletico exit


Spain midfielder Rodrigo Hernandez, known as Rodri, has informed Atletico Madrid of his desire to leave the club, say Marca.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, where he is seen as a potential long-term replacement for midfield lynchpin Fernandinho.

If he does leave the Wanda Metropolitano, Atletico will at least make a hefty profit on the man they signed from Villarreal for €25 million (£22.4m) last summer. They are unlikely to sanction a move for anything less than his release clause, set at €70 million (£62.7m).

West Ham want Martial in Diop deal


Manchester United will have to offer Anthony Martial in exchange if any deal is to be done for West Ham defender Issa Diop, say the Independent.

The 22-year-old defender has been identified as a key target in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's summer rebuild, but the Hammers are in no mood to sell.

Similarly, United would rather not lose 23-year-old Martial - but with defensive reinforcements a priority for Solskjaer, may be tempted by such a deal.

Juve to back Sarri with big signings


New Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is to be backed in the transfer market with some big signings, claim La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Paul Pogba, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Federico Chiesa and Nicolo Zaniolo are all in the crosshairs for the Turin side, who are desperate to take the next step and lift the Champions League trophy.

Hearts and Vitesse Arnhem are interested in a loan move for Leeds United youngster Jay-Roy Grot, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The 21-year-old Dutch attacker, born in Arnhem, spent last year with VVV Venlo and is not thought to be in Marcelo Bielsa's immediate plans.

James agrees Napoli deal


Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez has agreed terms on a move to Napoli, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Rodriguez is back at Real after his two-year loan at Bayern Munich came to end but is expected to leave the Santiago Bernabeu again this summer.

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez urged Romelu Lukaku to leave Manchester United ahead of the new Premier League season to get his career back on track.

Terry in contention for Derby job


John Terry is among the candidates to succeed Frank Lampard at Derby if his former Chelsea teammate returns to Stamford Bridge, report the Daily Mail.

Chelsea are expected to approach Derby in the coming days about appointing Lampard as their new boss following Maurizio Sarri's departure to Juventus.

Should Lampard move on then Terry, currently assistant head coach at Aston Villa, is high on Derby's shortlist.


Atalanta close in on Muriel


Atalanta are closing in on a deal to sign Colombia forward Luis Muriel from Sevilla, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini is looking to bolster his forward line ahead of their Champions League debut next season and is keen to partner Muriel with fellow Colombian Duvan Zapata.

Muriel, who scored six goals in 19 games on loan at Fiorentina last season, is valued in the region of €15 million (£13.4m/$16.8m).

United told to up Wan-Bissaka offer


Crystal Palace have told Manchester United they will have to up their offer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka to £50million ($63m) if they are to have any chance of landing the England Under-21 defender, report the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils have made the young full-back a key transfer target this summer and have already had an opening bid worth £35m plus £15m in bonus payments rejected.

Palace felt the offer was unacceptable because the bonus payments were unrealistic and unlikely to ever be paid, insisting United return with an offer of £45millon plus £5m in bonuses.

Pogba set for bumper new deal


Manchester United are ready to offer Paul Pogba a new contract worth around £500,000 a week to keep him at Old Trafford, report the Daily Mail.

Pogba has sparked speculation about a summer exit after admitting it 'could be time for a new challenge'. 

That has forced United officials into action and they are ready to offer Pogba a signficant payrise to prevent the Frenchman from moving on, with Real Madrid and Juventus interested in his services.

Barcelona have opened talked with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal to re-sign Neymar, according to Globoesporte.

There has been intense speculation about the future of the 27-year-old in recent months and now it seems a return to the Camp Nou after a two-year absence is edging closer.

The fee is believed to be in the region of €100 million (£90m/$112m) with some players - believed to be Samuel Umtiti, Ousmane Dembele and Ivan Rakitic - also offered in exchange.
