Manchester United are looking to sign either Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld or Leonardo Bonucci, claims the <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5980325/Manchester-United-want-sign-one-Maguire-Alderweireld-Bonucci.html" target="_blank">Daily Mail.&nbsp;</a> Jose Mourinho's side are looking to strengthen in central defence, but will have to offload one of their current defenders to make room for a new signing.&nbsp; Marcos Rojo, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof&nbsp;are all candidates to be sold if United add one of their preferred trio of centre-backs.&nbsp;

Barcelona are willing to wait on&nbsp;Ajax midfielder Frenkie&nbsp;de&nbsp;Jong, who has already given his approval to a move to Camp Nou, claims <a href="https://www.sport-english.com/en/news/barca/barca-the-strategy-to-sign-frenkie-de-jong-this-summer-6955274" target="_blank">Sport</a>.&nbsp; The Dutch side want to keep the 21-year-old around at least through the beginning of August, when they will complete a two-leg Champions League qualifying play-off against Sturm Graz.&nbsp; De Jong's move to Barca appears to be a done deal, the only question is whether it will take place this summer or next.&nbsp;

West Ham have made contact with Lille over a move for&nbsp;Brazilian midfielder Thiago Mendes, according to <a href="https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/football-shorts-west-hams-spending-spree-continues-and-wilfried-zaha-stars-for-crystal-palace-q70fkmpwn" target="_blank">The Times.</a> Mendes, 26, is valued at £18 million (€20m/$24m), and has interest from Italy, Germany and other Premier League sides.&nbsp; Lazio, Wolfsburg, Crystal Palace, Huddersfield and Newcastle&nbsp;have all been credited with an interest in the central midfielder.&nbsp;

West Ham inquire over Mendes move

Huddersfield winger Tom Ince&nbsp;has undergone at medical at Stoke ahead of a £10 million ($13m) move,&nbsp;according to <a href="http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11701/11445866/tom-ince-has-medical-at-stoke-ahead-of-10m-move-from-huddersfield" target="_blank">Sky Sports News.</a> The 26-year-old scored two goals in 33 league appearances last season, helping the Terriers avoid relegation – something the Potters were unable to do.&nbsp;

Mina nears Everton move

Bayern Munich are in talks over a move for Vancouver Whitecaps winger Alphonso Davies, according to <a href="http://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-transfers/story/3571670/bayern-munich-in-talks-for-alphonso-davies-from-vancouver-whitecaps-source" target="_blank">ESPN FC.&nbsp;</a> The talks, first reported by <a href="https://theathletic.com/440076/2018/07/21/sources-whitecaps-alphonso-davies-close-to-record-setting-bayern-munich-move/" target="_blank">The Athletic</a>, are expected to conclude with a deal for the 17-year-old phenom, who made his MLS debut as a 15-year-old and has already represented Canada at the senior level.&nbsp; The sides are discussing a&nbsp;a $12 million (£9m) transfer for Davies, but the fee could rise to&nbsp;$18m (£14m).

Bayern in talks for Davies
