Cameroon Women vs New Zealand Women Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Cameroon and New Zealand will both be hoping to secure one of the best third place finishes as they go head-to-head on Thursday evening.

Both sides have been beaten by Netherlands and Canada in their opening pair of Women's World Cup games, but there is still a chance of a place in the knockout stages.

Latest Odds

888Sport make New Zealand 11/8 (2.38) favourites to come out on top in Montpellier. The only previous meeting between the pair ended 3-1 to the Football Ferns.

Cameroon can be backed at 2/1 (3.0) so the bookmakers believe they're set to be competitive in this final group match, while the draw trades at 47/20 (3.35).

Team News

Catherine Bott picked up a wrist injury against Canada and will miss this game. The defender was replaced by Annalie Longo with Ria Percival switching to right-back.

Gabrielle Onguene is the only player from either side to find the net in France this summer after scoring against the Dutch last time out.

Preview

Ranked 19th in the world, it's understandable to see New Zealand ahead of Cameroon in the betting but they've now gone 14 World Cup games without a victory.

As such, taking a chance on Tom Sermanni’s side at 11/8 (2.38) given their dismal record and lacklustre performances thus far seems ill-advised.

New Zealand v Cameroon Betting Preview

Neither side have shown much promise in the final third this summer and opposing goals could be the best option for punters.

Predictions

Both teams to score has landed in just one of New Zealand's last 10 matches. Despite that, it's 11/20 (1.55) that neither side keeps a clean sheet in this one.

The Football Ferns' lack of cutting edge could be more than matched by a Cameroon side that failed to muster a shot on target against Canada in their opening game.

As such under 2.5 goals looks overpriced at 21/20 (2.05) with 888Sport. This bet would have paid out in eight of New Zealand's last 10 games in all competitions and despite an expectation of goals, punters could be in for another tight contest.
