Having won a behind-closed-doors warm-up game against Ipswich Town 5-1 at London Colney, Arsenal officially began their pre-season preparations in Germany with an exciting 5-3 success against Nurnberg on July 8 which featured two debut goals from Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal then flew to the United States and they opened up their trip across the Atlantic with a 2-0 victory against Premier League rivals Everton in Baltimore, with Jesus again getting on the scoresheet.

The second game of their US tour saw the Gunners claim a 3-1 success against Orlando City.

Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring for Mikel Arteta's side before Facundo Torres equalised for the hosts.

Second half goals from Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson were then enough to give Arsenal a fourth successive pre-season win.

Things got even better in Arsenal's final game of their US tour when they met Chelsea in Orlando.

Goals from Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Sambi Lokonga earned Mikel Arteta's side a thumping 4-0 win against their London rivals as Arsenal won the Florida Cup.

Arsenal suffered their first defeat of pre-season during a behind closed doors friendly against Brentford soon after their return from the United States.

Mikel Arteta rested almost all his senior players and a much changed XI were beaten 2-1 by the Bees at London Colney, with Nketiah netting for the home side.

The Gunners completed their pre-season campaign with a 6-0 win over Sevilla in the Emirates Cup.

Gabriel Jesus scored a hat-trick on his first appearance at Emirates Stadium for this new club, with Bukayo Saka scoring twice and Eddie Nketiah also on target.

Arsenal 2022-23 pre-season squad

Arsenal have done some serious business in the summer transfer window. The Gunners have splashed out £45 million to sign Manchester City star as their new No.9. Marquinhos joins from Sao Paulo in a deal believed to be worth €3.5 million, besides Fabio Vieira from Porta in a €40 million deal.

With goalkeeper Matt Turner’s move from New England Revolution, Aaron Ramsdale faces more competition alongside Bernd Leno, with Arthur Okonkwo and Alex Runarsson providing further depth.

Hector Bellerin may be keen to return to Real Betis on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell, with Pablo Mari also touted for an exit, but both are included in the Gunners' U.S. tour squad, which can be seen below.
