Supporters of Fenerbahce have shown remarkable solidarity by paying tribute to Christopher Potter, the Rangers fan who tragically lost his life in Istanbul. Potter, a devoted Rangers supporter, had travelled to Turkey to watch his team compete but was killed in a road accident. His unexpected passing deeply affected the Rangers community and football fans worldwide, prompting an outpouring of support and remembrance.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

During the first-leg match in Istanbul, Rangers players wore black armbands as a mark of respect for Potter. Back in Dennistoun, the neighbourhood where Potter grew up, a memorial wall has been created in his honour. The tribute site is situated near the football pitch and playground where he spent much of his childhood. A GoFundMe campaign set up by Potter’s close friends has been met with overwhelming generosity, surpassing £160,000 in donations. Among those contributing was former Scotland international Robert Snodgrass, who made a personal donation in support of Potter’s family.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Adding to the wave of tributes, travelling Fenerbahce fans made their own heartfelt gesture. A group of supporters posed for a photograph with a specially made flag honouring the late Rangers fan. The banner featured an image of Potter holding a Rangers scarf, accompanied by the words: "Rest in Peace. Christopher Potter. Fenerbahce London Association."
