    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Manchester City player debuted for England in a friendly against Northern Ireland in 2021 but has since been back-up to Mary Earps. She is eligible to play for Scotland through her mother and could make her debut for Pedro Martinez Losa's team when they face Netherlands in the UEFA Women's Nations League.

MacIver is the latest player to switch from England to Scotland this year, following in the footsteps of Amy Rodgers.

The 23-year-old represented England's youth teams before declaring herself available for Scotland and went on to make her debut against Northern Ireland in July - and made her second appearance against Belgium in September.

Rodgers has also been called up to the squad for the trip to Netherlands this month.
