Pogba will be eligible to return to action in March
Ferdinand wants Man Utd to hand a trial to Pogba
However, there has been no contact with the midfielder
With his ban nearing its end, Pogba was cleared to return to training in January and will be eligible to compete in professional matches again in March. This has sparked speculation about his next move, with hints of a possible Manchester United comeback emerging through a cryptic social media post last month, where he was seen wearing a Red Devils kit in cartoon form alongside Ivorian winger Amad Diallo.
WHAT FERDINAND SAID
Among those backing Pogba to make a return to Manchester is Ferdinand, who insists that United should at least offer the midfielder an opportunity to train with the squad.
During the latest episode of Rio Ferdinand Presents on YouTube, the former United defender said: "You’d like to think he would [be going somewhere]. Surely he’s got to go somewhere. Pogba at United? I’d go come in and train with us and let’s see what you’ve got. I’d do that. I would’ve done that already. I’d say come in and get fit and let’s have a little look."
DID YOU KNOW?
Pogba returned to Old Trafford for a second spell from Juventus in 2016, and his comeback was famously announced in a video featuring British rapper Stormzy, who was seen wearing a United jersey with Pogba’s name on the back. Ferdinand humorously suggested that Stormzy could be preparing another verse for a new Pogba unveiling video in case a return materialises.
“Stormzy could be doing a little verse for the video now," he joked.

WHAT NEXT FOR POGBA?
Despite growing speculation, reports indicate that United have made no formal approach to Pogba or his representatives regarding a return. The 31-year-old has also been linked with a move to Major League Soccer and the Saudi Pro League, where clubs have reportedly been monitoring his availability. With his playing ban nearing an end, Pogba is expected to make a decision on his next destination in the coming months. Whether that involves a return to Old Trafford remains to be seen.
