North Carolina Courage & Brazil star Kerolin ruled out of NWSL playoffs after suffering heartbreaking ACL injury

North Carolina Courage have confirmed that forward Kerolin Nicoli will not take part in the NWSL playoffs after tearing her ACL.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Kerolin sustained the ACL injury during the Courage's win over Washington Spirit during Sunday's regular season finale, subsequently ruling her out of the playoffs. North Carolina Courage play Portland in midweek.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    The 23-year-old finished the season as the NWSL Golden Boot runner-up and as an MVP candidate, scoring 10 goals and laying on three assists. She also scored the winner in the NWSL Challenge Cup final, so her absence is a bitter blow for the Courage.
