Manchester City suffered their fourth straight loss across all competitions - the first time in Guardiola's coaching career - as they went down 2-1 against Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday. THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Catalan coach later revealed what he told the defender while speaking to reporters as he said, "That he [Van Hecke] was strong with Erling and when Erling then stands up, you have to stand up, he cannot go to the grass. Stay strong, no? You pull him all the game then after the fight you stay there. But he played a really good game and congratulations to Brighton."

  • WHAT HAS BEEN SAID

Now a lip-reader named Jeremy Freeman told the Daily Mail that he has reportedly figured out what exactly the Cityzens boss had spoken on the field, as he said, "Are you joking? Are you serious? You don't do that." He then continued, "You asked for…crying. Are you crying?"

The 53-year-old then further added, "Fair play for that…" A confused Van Hecke then in response asked, "Why?" Guardiola then said, "No come on baby... No... No, let's go clap. You played a good game. I still like to congratulate you."

The manager finally ended the conversation by saying, "Congratulations, anyway… Enjoy your night."
