Jurgen Klopp interrupts holiday to explain exactly why he's taken Red Bull job in new video after ex-Liverpool boss angers fans with new role

The German manager has hit the headlines after it was revealed that he has accepted a long-term position with Red Bull and will return to work as the new Global Head of Soccer at the organisation. Klopp parted ways with the Reds at the end of the 2023/24 season after nine years in order to enjoy a well-earned sabbatical.

After Klopp's move to Red Bull was confirmed, Liverpool fans angrily reacted on social media as they called out their former manager for being a sell-out and a hypocrite. Now Klopp has issued a new video where he explains in detail why he decided to take up the new role.

Klopp posted the video on his Instagram profile where he said, "Some of you might have heard already, some of you didn't. From January 1, 2025, I will be Head of Global Soccer of Red Bull and I am really looking forward to that. A few months ago I said that I don't see myself on the sidelines anymore and that is still the case. But I still love football and I still love working. Red Bull gives me the perfect platform for that. 
"I want to share my experience which I collected over the years and we all know there are much more successful managers out there but in my career, I fought for promotion, I fought against relegation, I've fought for titles, I've fought for trophies. Sometimes we failed, sometimes we succeeded and dealing with that is not easy. But it's possible. And then learn again, because when you are in the job, you have to play every three days, you barely have time for that. And now I have time and I have the opportunity. I want to see and feel and figure out what is useful in football. So developing football a little bit as well. Really looking forward to it but now I go back on holiday. See you in January."

The 57-year-old will move into a strategic position, starting January 1, 2025, where he will support the coaches of RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg and the New York Red Bulls, among other clubs in the Red Bull network. He will also focus on further developing Red Bull teams' playing philosophy and help them scout young talent and coaches.
