The 38-year-old mother of four has agreed to join the latest cast of intrepid adventures preparing to enter the Australian jungle. She can expect to be subjected to Bushtucker trials while camping under the stars Down Under, with physical and emotional tests fast approaching.

Rooney’s bravery will be handsomely rewarded, with Coleen set to land the biggest cheque ever handed out by I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here bosses. According to The Sun, she will earn £1.5m over the course of however long her stint in Oz lasts.

While that seven-figure sum is not to be sniffed at, it is a drop in the ocean when it comes to the Rooney family’s supposed £200m ($258m) fortune – with Coleen contributing some £19m ($25m) to that cause through television appearances, exercise videos, fashion campaigns and best-selling books.

Coleen has grown accustomed to living apart from husband Wayne of late, after seeing him relocate to Devon in order to take the reins at Plymouth, but is said to have seen that relationship – which has faced a number of tests down the years – become stronger than ever since her ex-United and England star partner retired and moved into management.
