    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Baresi joined the Serie A giants' youth system in 1972 before making his senior professional debut for the club in 1977. He represented the Rossoneri for the next 20 years before retiring from football in 1997. The defender made 719 official appearances for the Italian side and won several major trophies including six Serie A titles and three European Cups. He continues to remain associated with the club as he currently serves as their honorary vice-president.

  • WHAT FRANCO BARESI SAID

After receiving this recognition from his boyhood club, the 64-year-old said: "I am deeply honoured to have been chosen by AC Milan as the first inductee into the Hall of Fame, representing the glorious history of this club and celebrating my 50 years in the red and black.

"This recognition fills me with pride. AC Milan is not just about victories and titles; it embodies style, passion, and sacrifice - values and people that have made this club great. I hope this project inspires future generations to continue building on our legacy."
