Matters are taking a diplomatic turn

Months after the departure

Riyad Mahrez is poised to embark on an unexpected new chapter in the Middle East after agreeing terms with Qatari outfit Al-Shamal SC. The former Manchester City winger departed Al-Ahli following three trophy-laden seasons in Saudi Arabia, and the veteran forward has now opted to continue his playing career in the Qatar Stars League on an initial one-year deal.

Pep Guardiola is reportedly preparing a dramatic return to the Etihad Stadium to stand alongside Manchester City during the most turbulent period in the club's modern history. The iconic Catalan coach, who departed at the conclusion of last season, is eager to show his unwavering solidarity following the recent bombshell ruling against the Citizens.
