Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has explained why Cole Palmer missed Sunday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The talisman was expected to feature but did not make the squad for the 3-1 victory. Rosenior also responded to recent transfer speculation amid claims Palmer is unsettled in London and is hankering after a return to Manchester.

Manchester United and England legend Sir David Beckham has received an apology after an "objectifying" social media post was directed at the former footballer amid a very public falling out with son Brooklyn. TalkSPORT presenter Shebahn Aherne tried to make light of the situation by sharing an anecdote about a meeting with Beckham but ended up coming in for criticism and has now said sorry.

Barcelona recovered from a nightmare start to beat Slavia Prague 4-2 in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Fermin Lopez scored twice in the first half, while Dani Olmo and Robert Lewandowski were also on target for Hansi Flick's side to keep their hopes of a top-eight finish - and automatic qualification to the knockout stages of the tournament - alive going into the final round of group fixtures.

Al-Nassr beat Damac 2-1 in the Saudi Pro League on Wednesday night to close the gap on leaders Al-Hilal to just four points. Abdulrahman Ghareeb opened the scoring early on in the game before Ronaldo doubled their advantage at the start of the second half. The Reds are a distant 14 points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League and there has been speculation Slot could depart at the end of the season. Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Hernandez has been accused of human trafficking and illegal employment in a complaint filed against the player and his wife at a court in Versailles. The complaint comes from a Colombian family who worked for Hernandez and an investigation has now been launched. Hernandez joined PSG in 2023 after spells with Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid and was part of France's 2018 World Cup-winning squad.

Chelsea backed away from a potential deal for Marc Guehi in the January transfer window, allowing Manchester City to swoop in for the Crystal Palace and England defender in a deal worth an initial £20 million. The Blues have been hunting for a new centre-back to bolster their backline but opted against re-signing the 25-year-old due to several concerns.

Wrexham missed the chance to move to the brink of the playoff places in the Championship on Tuesday night after being denied victory against Leicester. Lewis O'Brien looked to have secured all three points for the hosts but the Welsh side were left frustrated when Jannik Vestergaard pulled one back for the Foxes in the 90th minute as the game ended all square.

Premier League referees' chief Howard Webb has said the match officials were correct in their decision not to send Diogo Dalot off during Saturday's win for Manchester United over rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford. Dalot was shown a yellow card for an ugly foul on Jeremy Doku by referee Anthony Taylor which was supported by VAR Craig Pawson. Webb has now explained why he thinks the officials got the decision spot on.
