Acosta, Hedges and Manneh depart U.S. January camp

The FC Dallas duo suffered injuries, while Manneh returns to his club side for a preseason tour of Wales.

U.S. Soccer has announced that midfielder Kellyn Acosta, defender Matt Hedges and midfielder Kekuta Manneh have departed the U.S. national team’s January camp.

FC Dallas duo Acosta and Hedges left with a mild left ankle sprain and mild right knee sprain, respectively, while Manneh — who is in the process of completing his eligibility requirements to play for the U.S. after securing his citizenship — will join the Vancouver Whitecaps on their preseason tour in Wales.

No additions will be made to the roster, which now stands at 28 players. 

The U.S. will kick off Bruce Arena's second spell in charge with a friendly on Sunday against Serbia in San Diego. Five days later the U.S. will take on Jamaica in another friendly in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
