Kaizer Chiefs have been camping in the Netherlands for pre-season ahead of the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign.

While in Europe, they played five games against Dutch sides, managing a win and four losses, which, to their fans, was worrying, especially with the signings made.

On Saturday, Amakhosi are set for another friendly game against Asante Kotoko.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

In the last two seasons, Amakhosi have failed to finish in the top half of the table; they were 10th in the 2023/24 edition, and ninth a year later.

Nevertheless, they won the Nedbank Cup to end their decade-long trophy drought.

Ahead of a busy campaign, Zitha Kwinika has promised the supporters improved performance from the team. He has further lauded the friendly game against Asante Kotoko, stating it will give them a different dimension ahead of the Caf Confederation Cup outing.

    WHAT KWINIKA SAID

"I think the supporters must expect a different team this season, we are growing as a group, and we learned so much from this camp," he said as quoted by SABC Sport.

"We get to test our new knowledge against our African brothers [Asante Kotoko], but we are still laying the building blocks."

Kwinika has further opened up on the pre-season Amakhosi had in the Netherlands.

"The level here is a bit high over there, yes, football being football, but they understand the moments and the details really well.

"They know exactly when, where, and how to press, and their passing is so accurate," the 31-year-old concluded.
