    WHAT HAPPENED?

Mamelodi Sundowns hosted Kaizer Chiefs at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday in the Nedbank Cup semi-final outing.

Having won the initial three meetings across all competitions, Masandawana wanted to make it four in a row.

But strikes from Wandile Duba and Ashley du Preez handed the Soweto giants a controversial win over Sundowns, who got their goal through Teboho Mokoena.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

It was not going to be an easy outing for the Glamour Boys who, prior to the game, had gone four games in the Premier Soccer League without a win.

The Nedbank Cup is the only realistic chance for Chiefs to end their decade-long trophy drought.

Club legend Doctor Khumalo has now revealed how Mokoena's strike sent chills down his spinal cord which made him request spiritual intervention.

    WHAT KHUMALO SAID

“It’s very nice in Mzansi. It’s very nice in Mzansi, you see what I saw yesterday [Sunday], I had a great weekend,” he said on SoccerZone.

“I was in Tsolo for a kiddies tournament, Mxolisi Foundation, and when I came back, I sat down and watched the first goal of Sundowns, and I was like ‘Yoh’! What is Teboho doing?

“I went on the other side of the room to pray, and I called on the ancestors and said, ‘You can’t do this thing’,” Doc Khumalo concluded.
