    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Wydad Athletic Club collected maximum points on the road after defeating Difaa El Jadidi 2-0 in a Botola Pro League encounter at Stade El Abdi Stadium on Sunday night.

    In the 38th minute, the in-form forward Mohamed Rayhi scored the opening goal for Rhulani Mokwena's team via the penalty spot, allowing the Moroccan side to head into the half-time interval with a lead.

    During the second half, Bafana Bafana international Cassius Mailula netted the second goal in the 61st minute for the three-time Caf Champions League winners.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    An away victory against ninth-placed El Jadidi propelled Wydad to the Caf Confederation Cup spot, as they now hold third place in the Botola Pro League standings.

    The Red Castle have now won three consecutive league matches as the South African coach continues to build a strong Wydad team.
