    WHAT HAPPENED?

Nasreddine Nabi has hit out at his critics again and said some people are not happy that Kaizer Chiefs are 'coming back.'

Nabi said he observed the reactions of the fans during the Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates, and what he observed bolstered his belief that some people are not happy and only tend to create more problems.

    WHAT NABI SAID

“Every time the question is negative, I won the Nedbank (after ten years), and now (what about) MTN? No—because I understand all," Nabi told the press.

“South Africa, I understand all, all the people, critics, and analysts. I respect all the analysts,t I am never one to change my direction with Kaizer Chiefs, me and the committee, because we build.

“Some people are not happy that Kaizer Chiefs are coming back, I know. Too many people are not happy because I know why I give them reason. Because I observed the reactions of the fans after (winning) the Nedbank Cup," he added.

“This is not good for some people, and some people continue to create problems here, criticize us, and create confusion to push the fans to attack the coach, but don’t worry about that."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The biggest achievement that Nabi managed with Chiefs in his first season was the Nedbank Cup.

However, that success has been clouded by their disappointing outing in the PSL, which saw them finish in ninth place.

Nine games without a win and equalling the most losses for Chiefs in a season have also highlighted the flaws for Amakhosi under the former Young Africans head coach.

The fact that they will not be part of the next MTN8 campaign just shows how poor they have been.

But Nabi is confident, and if he is retained, that would be a perfect chance to prove his critics wrong by leading the club to more achievements.

    WHAT NEXT FOR NABI?

Although the season has ended, his future will continue to draw speculation.

Chiefs' hierarchy has indicated they are ready to keep the Tunisian, and that means he might be around to guide in the transfer window.

If he gets the players that he wants, then he will be expected to perform better and go for trophies next season.
