'The old Kaizer Chiefs are back! Bring another coach to ruin his CV; the way Amakhosi fans hype their team, you would think they are at the same level as Orlando Pirates; we are subjected to Calvin Johnson mudball' - Fans

Kaizer Chiefs were unable to close in on Mamelodi Sundowns on the Premier Soccer League table after a 1-1 draw against Marumo Gallants on Wednesday at the FNB Stadium.

Had Amakhosi won, the gap would have reduced to two points, given that Downs did not win their respective midweek clash.

Although they took the lead in the first half, the Soweto giants were pegged back when Gallants equalised late in the second half.

The draw follows a disappointing result in the first leg of the Confederation Cup first preliminary round, where Chiefs lost to Kabuscorp of Angola, their first defeat to an Angolan outfit ever.

After starting brightly into the new season, Chiefs look like they are losing their momentum, and this has coincided with the fact that a lot of uncertainty surrounds their technical bench. Nasreddine Nabi is not around, as he is expected to depart, leaving the players under Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef again.

Now, after the draw against Gallants, GOAL takes a look at how the fans reacted.

    Old Chiefs back

The old Kaizer Chiefs is back; resolve the coach issue ASAP. We still struggle to create chances and rely heavily on Sirino. He's not the same. We need to buy quality numbers 10 and 9. Sell Ngcobo and others - Gumgedle

Bring another coach to ruin his CV

Bring another coach that will ruin his CV. We can talk about changing coaches, but we shouldn't forget the average players that this club employs. Sirino starting, Mmodi playing, and Frosler, Peterson, and Ox in 2025? I am 100% sure Nabi is getting sacked for wanting quality - ThaboCeleEra

Chiefs are not at Pirates level

The way Chiefs' fans hype their team, you'd swear they're on the same level as Pirates, kante noo man. They are more of a "Siwelele" vibe and have been like that for the longest. I'm so confused. On how they thought they were contenders, they've been like this for quite sometime - Kabelo Sekalo

    Biggest problem

Our biggest problem is the lack of urgency to score and win games. The attitude going to the final third is just vibes. That’s the difference between us and our opponents and where we lose our games - Innocent’s Take

    Ngcobo's impact

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo doesn’t need 60 minutes for you to see that he is a baller. With those Riqui Puig minutes he has gotten, he managed to make more impact than players who played the full 90 minutes yesterday - dEAR

    Headless chicken

The strategy with Mthethwa is to run like a headless chicken in the game to win balls, then pass back to opponents, then to win the ball and pass back to defenders or opponents.

Shabalala is just to get the ball and act like you are going to do something. Lose the ball, fall, and hope the referee is there to give a free kick. We can’t expect these players to compete at CAF - T_Dee

    Let coaches go

You really need a coach ASAP. That technical team is there for the salary. Honestly, since they arrived, I haven't seen anything positive except for winning the Nedbank Cup.

Let them go; we bought strikers and need a goal, but none of those are in. Time is up for the likes of Sirino, Frosler, etc. Get a keeper too, or give Ntwari a chance - KayGee

    Mosimane is available

I hope we get out of the CAF thing because @kaizerm_jr and the management do not want to admit that signing a bunch of free agents is shit. And their arrogance is hindering the club.

You have @TheRealPitso available, but you act like we as supporters don’t deserve only the best – Sir Governor

    Mudball

We were told the two co-coaches were winning because Professor Nabi was not there, but look now, we are being subjected to Calvin Johnson's mudball – DR TSHEGO ABUTI T-MAN

    One-goal-per-game team

I have warned of this thing of being a 'one goal per game' team. I said, 'Any team that scores more than one goal will beat us, and a team that scores one goal will get a draw against us.' - The Musician
