    WHAT HAPPENED?

Azam FC midfielder Feisal Salum had no interest in discussing rumours associating him with Premier Soccer League giants Kaizer Chiefs and Tanzanian outfit Simba SC.

The 26-year-old midfield maestro has been the subject of conversations since the winter transfer window, with reports indicating Chiefs and Simba have been monitoring him.

When recently speaking to the media, Salum remained reticent when questioned about the chance of joining either Chiefs or Simba.

    WHAT WAS SAID

“I can’t speak on this matter. Yes, but I can’t comment on this matter now. Let’s move on to another question," Salum said as quoted by FARPost

“Let’s move on to another question. Some things can’t be spoken about here.”

“I would love you to ask me about Azam FC. I can’t speak about this matter. Let’s continue with other questions.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Salum worked with the current Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi for at least two seasons during their periods at Tanzanian giants Young Africans a few seasons ago.

The central midfielder has been performing well for both Azam and the Tanzanian national football team, having aided Taifa Stars in qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco.

The Glamour Boys have also been linked with Burkina Faso international Stephane Aziz Ki and DR Congo star Fiston Mayele.

    WHAT NEXT?

Chiefs are expected to be active in the forthcoming January transfer window. They are forecasted to enhance their midfield and striker departments.

Considering the club's popularity, it is quite improbable that Salum would decline an opportunity to join Amakhosi, yet it is still to be determined if Chiefs will obtain his signature.
