    WHAT HAPPENED?

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows midfielder Humphrey Mlwane believes Gavin Hunt is failing to manage SuperSport United.

The Tshwane outfit has been struggling to get positive results on the field since the start of the new season.

The Swanky Boys mentor has always been complaining about a lack of experienced players in his team and seemingly believed that's the reason they lose games.

Mlwane has insisted that Hunt should find a way of winning games like other PSL teams with young stars do and stop complaining.

    WHAT WAS SAID

"If Chiefs can play the same way they played last week, I don't see SuperSport United coping. But, to be honest, SuperSport made things easier for Chiefs that day. They destroyed them with speed. I watched that whole game, but I couldn't see SuperSport on the pitch,'' Mlwane told KickOff.

"For me, Gavin Hunt is not dangerous... I might be wrong. It was the same thing against Pirates, there was no improvement from SuperSport United side. It's just that Pirates were not clinical enough, otherwise they could have easily beaten them as Chiefs did," says the former midfield hard-man.

"Comfortability is what is killing SuperSport United. You can’t complain about playing young players when other teams are also playing youngsters and they are winning," he added.

"So, Chiefs must just make use of their chances and not be wasteful like Ranga Chivaviro was the other day. SuperSport United sometimes look lost. They don't have a solid defensive block. They are easily breakable."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

In recent seasons, SuperSport United lost key players such as Grant Kekana, Teboho Mokoena, Aubrey Modiba, Ronwen Williams, and Thalente Mbatha, amongst others.

However, the Tshwane outfit currently do have experienced players such as Terrence Dzvukamanja, Nyiko Mobbie, Lyle Lakay, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Siphesihle Ndlovu, and Vincent Pule, just to mention a few.

Hunt's side have been struggling to win games this season - having been knocked out of the Carling Knockout competition. They were also booted out of the 2024 MTN8 in the quarterfinals early in the season.
