SuperSport United coach lectures Nasreddine Nabi on how to get the best out of Kaizer Chiefs loanee Saile - 'There is a lot of quality in Christian'

Christian Saile Basomboli was loaned to SuperSport United by Kaizer Chiefs in January to spend the rest of the season in Tshwane.

After struggling at Amakhosi during the first half of the term, he appears to have found his scoring boots at Matsatsantsa, scoring three goals in nine appearances.

SuperSport assistant coach Andre Arendse details how they are able to get the best out of Saile.

“There is a lot of quality in Christian, a lot of quality,” said Arendse as per iDiski Times.

“And we needed to find the quality when he first came. So we had to have a look at him in different positions to see where he is most comfortable, where he is best-suited.

“If you saw the game against Kaizer Chiefs, he did some really good wing-play, and you’ll have seen the goal he scored there where he joined in from wider areas, exposing the defence at times.

“That’s where he is at his best, he’s a very strong player, he’s got good hold-up play, he can hold people off. And he’s got an eye for goal," added the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.

“What we’ve discovered is that he bounces of confidence, and if you show belief in a player like that he’s ready and willing to give you his all."

There is a possibility that Chiefs might not trigger the one year extension on Ranga Chivaviro's contract which expires in June and that could open the door for Saile to return to Naturena next term.

By then, Nabi might have an idea on how to fully utilise the Congolese forward who could form a formidable partnership with Glody Lilepo upfront.

SuperSport could also insist on the permanent transfer of Saile if he continues to impress coach Gavin Hunt.

It remains to be seen if Saile will continue with his good form for SuperSport and if Chiefs will take him back for next season.

He has 10 more Premier Soccer League games to perform big and his immediate task right now is to help SuperSport beat Orlando Pirates in Saturday's Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash.
