    WHAT HAPPENED?

Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, and Orlando Pirates had a mixed 2024/25 season.

However, they all have the privilege of representing South Africa in continental competitions in the 2025/26 edition.

While Masandawana and the Buccaneers will be playing in the Caf Champions League, Amakhosi - alongside Stellenbosch, will be taking part in the Confederation Cup.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

To meet their targets, the aforementioned trio is expected to bring in a few quality individuals to strengthen their squads.

One player who has been heavily linked with a move to the big three is Bafana Bafana defender Thabo Moloisane, who had a good season.

In the 2024/25 season, the 26-year-old played 26 games across all competitions as Stellenbosch reached MTN8 final, finished third on the Premier Soccer League table, and helped them play in the semi-final of the Caf Confederation Cup.

The South Africa international is ready for the move, but to a team that will help him continue developing.

    WHAT MOLOISANE SAID

"I think when you have interest in your name, it shows you're doing well and you're playing well, and I'm just happy that my work is finally showing," he said as quoted by SABC Sport.

"I've prayed for days when I'm a Bafana Bafana player, and I try by all means to remain as consistent as I can, and at the moment it's just to continue doing what I can, and God is in control, so we'll see.
"I think, like I said, God is in control," Moloisane continued.

"For me, I know the right time, everything that has happened in my career has always come at the right time.

"So I'm just waiting for that; I understand sometimes football is a short career, but at the same time, I also believe that God will give me the right opportunity that will change my life at the right time. God is in control, we'll see," he added.

    WHAT'S NEXT?

Sundowns, currently, look sorted at the back, the same as Pirates, meaning he might struggle to get playing time regularly.

However, he might easily make it at Chiefs, who are still rebuilding following their PSL struggles in Nasreddine Nabi's debut season.
