Soweto Derby showdown & Orlando Pirates vs Mamelodi Sundowns blockbuster league fixtures leaked ahead of official Premier Soccer League announcement

The Premier Soccer League has confirmed that the MTN8 quarter-finals will kick off on 2 August, with the league season seemingly set to start the following weekend.

According to the draft fixture list, defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to begin their title defence with an away clash against Chippa United at Buffalo City Stadium on Saturday, 9 August.

Orlando Pirates are also set to open their campaign on the same day, hosting Sekhukhune United, while Kaizer Chiefs are expected to kick off their season on Sunday, 10 August, with an away fixture against Stellenbosch FC.

Meanwhile, fixture leaks making the rounds on social media have revealed the dates for two of the season’s biggest clashes - the Soweto Derby and the highly anticipated showdown between Pirates and Sundowns.

Masandawana will be eager to kick off their title defence with a win as they chase a record-extending ninth consecutive PSL crown.
