Sorry, Amakhosi! Polokwane City frustrate Kaizer Chiefs in disappointing PSL clash as Glamour Boys miss out on MTN8 spot

Kaizer Chiefs were held to a goalless draw by Polokwane City in their final game of the season at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

This means Amakhosi have failed to get a ticket to the MTN8 as their winless run persisted in the league.

The result means that Amakhosi have finished ninth with 32 points and Polokwane are seventh with 35 points.

Phuti Mohafe has secured a top-eight finish as his charges denied Chiefs a chance to break into the MTN8 bracket.

This is an improvement from what Rise and Shine achieved last season, where they finished eighth.

Nabi has failed to guide Chiefs to the top eight, and that means one of the season's objectives has not been achieved.

Although he ended the trophy drought at Naturena, Amakhosi have struggled in the PSL and ended the season without a win in nine straight games.

This will make his position subject to more assessment as to whether he is capable of taking the club to a higher level.

Chiefs and Polokwane have ended the season, and what remains now is going back to the drawing board, assessing their weaknesses, and how they can address them before the next campaign begins.
