    WHAT CHIEFS SAID

"As the 2024-25 season comes to a close, we bid farewell to one of our own — Sihle Tati," Chiefs said in a statement.

" From his first touch in gold & black to his final whistle with the badge on his chest, he’s represented our Youth Development with pride, discipline, and passion.

"Thank you for your dedication, growth, and unforgettable moments. We’re proud of your journey and can’t wait to see where football takes you next."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

For a team struggling to produce young players who become big hits in the Premier Soccer League, it is to be seen whether Chiefs ' decision to let go of Tati is spot-on.

In recent seasons, the Soweto giants lost the likes of Kulumani Ndamane and Puso Dithejane, who have joined and shone for Galaxy from Chiefs reserves.

There is also defender Omega Mdaka, who has realised his full potential at Stellenbosch after coming through the Amakhosi development ranks.
