Peter Shalulile on target as Mamelodi Sundowns join Orlando Pirates in Caf Champions League quarter-finals after AS FAR Rabat draw

Mamelodi Sundowns and AS FAR Rabat shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw in the Caf Champions League match at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday evening.

The home team commenced the match with enthusiasm, displaying determination early in the contest. Downs' dedication paid off quickly when invigorated striker Peter Shalulile scored with a header in the 12th minute.

Shalulile, who was substituted in the stoppage time in the second half, seemed like a man on a mission during his time on the pitch.

The Namibia international showcased his value in the evening as his goal made a significant impact on the outcome of the match.

Miguel Cardoso and his players should be disappointed for failing to protect their lead and conceding a goal just ten minutes before the final whistle.

Therefore, Sundowns finished as Group B runners-up and they will not be seeded in the quarter-final draw.

Sundowns and FAR Rabat will now await to discover their opponents in the quarter-finals as Caf will announce the date of the draw soon.

The Brazilians will now turn their attention to the PSL where they are scheduled to face Magesi FC on 22 January.
