Bafana Bafana claimed a 3-1 win over Comoros in the Cosafa semi-final staged at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on Friday evening to get into the last hurdle.

It took the hosts just eight minutes to get the opening goal; Kamogelo Sebelebele managed to get past his marker before a deflection from defender Idris Mohamed beat the goalkeeper.

Six minutes later, the Comoros defense was caught napping, and Gape Moralo managed to find Orlando Pirates striker Boitumelo Radiopane, who did well to beat goalkeeper Naime Mchindra.

The Coelacanths' well-worked move paid dividends in the 30th minute as Affane Djambae found Ibrahim Madi, who turned well before shooting the ball past Thakasani Mbanjwa to make it 2-1.

The first half ended with Bafana Bafana hitting the upright twice through Radiopane and Kabelo Dlamini.

South Africa scored their third in the 60th minute when Moralo, once again, won the ball in the danger zone, and Sebelebele fully capitalised on the opportunity to get his first ever goal in the Bafana Bafana colours.

In the 79th minute, it became even worse for Comoros following the sending off of Naimoudine Assane for a second bookable offense; however, the damage had already been done.

South Africa will now be battling for gold as their opponents hope to beat Madagascar for the bronze.

    THE MVP

Sebelebele and Radiopane had a good game in attack, each getting an important goal for Bafana Bafana.

However, Moralo was the engine on Friday, pulling strings from the midfield, which saw him get two assists.

He is our MVP owing to his excellent display.

    THE BIG LOSER

It was not a good day for Kaizer Chiefs versatile attacker Mduduzi Shabalala, who struggled to make an impact.

The Amakhosi graduate was subbed after the break in favour of Masindi Nemtajela.
