Orlando Pirates legend explains why Relebohile Mofokeng is hesitant to push for a move abroad - 'I don't think he wants to burn any bridges'
Orlando PiratesWHAT HAPPENED?
Orlando Pirates legend Steve Lekoelea has discussed Relebohile Mofokeng's situation at the Premier Soccer League side amid reports linking him with a move abroad.
Lekoelea says the 20-year-old would want to leave, but he believes the forward is not in a hurry to do so because he would not want to damage relations with the club.

"It's a decision that will ultimately be made by Irvin Khoza and the club regarding whether they will allow him to play overseas," Lekoelea said, as quoted by KickOff.
"Personally, I believe Rele wants to move abroad, especially since his friend Mohau Nkota has already signed with an overseas team. However, he's hesitant to push for a move because he doesn't want to damage his relationship with Orlando Pirates. I don't think he wants to burn any bridges," he added.
"He understands the significance of Pirates as a major club, and they are committed to handling matters professionally. Before any deal is settled with interested teams, they want to ensure that both the club and Rele are satisfied. That's my opinion."

Pointing at challenges a player from PSL can face abroad, Lekoelea, however, said Mofokeng can easily settle and perform because he is talented.
"We can claim that he is ready for overseas play, but the reality is that it always depends on a player's mental and physical fitness. The atmosphere abroad is quite different from that of local leagues," he added.
"However, I believe in his talent; he is a good player. If given at least four games to adjust, overseas teams will truly see the best of him," the legend continued.
"I am confident that a wise decision will be made for the boy's future."

Although signs now indicate that Mofokeng is set to remain at Bucs for the 2025/26 season, nothing can be ruled out entirely.
Mohau Nkota's exit was a shocking development for the Pirates' fans because before his departure was announced, there was no massive speculation around him.
The same cannot be said of Mofokeng since he has been linked with clubs abroad, with pundits stating that he is ripe for a challenge outside the country.
His father, Sechaba Mofokeng, has also been vocal, stating that his preference is to see his son play for big clubs in Europe next season.

Pirates fans have their fingers crossed, hoping that the promising youngster can serve them for one more season before he considers a move.
For Bucs, the focus is on the upcoming MTN8 trophy defence campaign before the PSL season begins in August.
